I have been listening to a few of the messages from CJ the last couple of days. Wow, the grace of God is his life is amazing and contagious. It’s easy to covet of what God is doing in his life and ministry. Hearing him speak of his life since he got saved in 1979 till now, hearing how he mentored and fashioned his apprentice, Josh Harris to take over the reigns of Covenant Life Church in which CJ started from the ground up. Hearing how he treats his wife and kids, hearing his passion for the gospel, for the Lord. Hearing the depthness in his knowledge of God, not perceiving any shallowness in it. Hearing and perceiving his humility, not hearing any grandstanding or boastfulness like alot of modern day tv preachers.
Hearing all this makes you want, more of what he has, namely the Lord.

I’ve mentioned before that the joy and passion in CJ’s preaching is at a level few if any can match. I enjoy listening to sermons, but with CJ it’s actually FUN to listen. I’ve been listening to some of the other guys at Covenant Life, and it’s interesting to hear places where it is clear that CJ has influenced them in style and thinking. CJ’s so unique, that it’s not all that tough to pick out where the others are influenced by him.
